Not enough Protein:

I encourage you to take a look at Rev. Malkmus. He hasn’t had any animal source protein in over 35 years. He is almost 80 and has rock hard abs, a powerful and muscular body, a full head of hair, does not wear glasses, and has not had a cold or the flu in those 35 years! This is what Reverend George brought me in a note the other day, “Most folks do not realize that all the nutrients found in flesh, dairy, and eggs originated in the plant foods the animals ate. When we eat an animal’s flesh, dairy, or eggs to get our protein, we are getting it second hand. When God gave us that original Genesis 1:29 diet, He certainly would not have given us a diet deficient in Protein.” Basically, where do you think the animals that are slaughtered for consumption get their protein, plant-based food!

Here is a video that you might find useful: http://www.hacres.com/library/videos/success-stories/strengthening-your-body

This is from Dr. Donaldson:

You can put sunflower seeds and other seeds on your salads, use raw tahini butter in salad dressings, and use raw hemp protein powders to increase your protein intake. Your protein intake will go up as your calorie intake goes up, but by choosing foods that are naturally higher in protein you will do well.

There are online food programs that can help track your intake. Myfooddiary.com is one option. Nutritiondata.com is another database of nutrients in foods. These programs can help. Sometimes protein pops up in unexpected places. Foods not thought of as high protein foods when eaten in large quantities (broccoli for example) do provide a significant amount of protein.

Not enough Calcium:

Here is a blog post on Calcium from AM & PM Malkmus: http://ampm.hacres.com/index.php/health-news/mainstream-news-questions-dairy/

Leafy vegetables, almonds, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, oats, and beans are just a few resources that possess as much or more calcium than milk. Furthermore, these sources are actually more easily absorbed and assimilated into the body than their dairy alternative.

Salads are boring:

Why be boring? In every meal you have eaten your entire life, you have tried to add variety and combinations. Do the same with your salads! Sometimes, I do not eat it as a salad. I separate raw vegetables on my plate like I would a cooked meal. This helps me to see it as I used to see it. We have a ton of recipes available on our website at http://www.hacres.com/recipes. The options are limitless!

You Need Meat to Be Healthy:

David Stroud of the American Meat Institute said it best when we he said, “Some people are still going to want to eat meat. We do agree through that vegetarianism is a healthier diet.”
